Notes/Summary, A very messy, unrefined, unedited piece that came to me literally seconds after posting the pervious fic. I was thinking about how to incoperate the other prompts into a fic, and BOOM! General Hux, a classical pianist was born!
Hux plays, Ren listens.

Prompts - "a musical instrument"

The general’s long lean fingers graced the keys so lightly, so effortlessly. And Ren took note of how perfectly delicate his hands were; not war torn and damaged like his. His lightsabre burnt to hold, but the general’s pen never treated it’s own the same.

It wasn’t just the hands that Ren noted, for the tune was violent and aggressive, but Hux played it classically. And that was Hux, Ren released. So pure and unscarred by war, but far from innocent and untouched by it.

It was a beautifully mirrored thing that Ren admired far after Hux had finished playing.

This was lovely! I can absolutely see Hux as a classically trained pianist who chooses to play music that is violent and beautiful at once. I like how Kylo notices all those subtle details about Hux and compares them to himself. Neither of them are untouched by war, and it shows, but in different ways. Nice job. :)

Aww, thank you for saying so. I'm so glad you liked it! :D
I also like to believe that Hux intends for the music to be private (and that Kylo is very privileged to hear Hux's song). And often he plays to puzzle over problems, much like Sherlock and his violin.

Kylo is very good at picking up on the small things. Yes! Both of them are affected, and just because the General isn't out there fighting hand to hand doesn't mean he's "pure" - he just looks it sat there behind his keyboard.

Doesn't look so unrefined to me :) Very nice! I can totally see Hux as a pianist. And he certainly uses different instruments of war than Kylo... I like his observation about the pen vs. the lightsaber.

Awww. thank you so much for saying so! :D I usually sit there for hours with my WIPs editing them until there's nothing left. I should probably have more confidence in my writing. . . Anyways. . .
Hux is a beautiful player. I like to think that he's like Sherlock in a way, and he plays to puzzle other the war effort.
YES! He uses a completely different tool, but both are deadly, and bloodstained! And each of them are affected by their actions, just because Hux's aren't physical scars. . .

I edit a lot myself. I envy people who can write quickly and be DONE with it quickly. But no matter how much I edit something, how long I let it sit around while other edits occur to me, it never fails -- right after I post it everywhere, I still think of something else I should have added to it or revised. It's ridiculous!

Yes, the pen is mightier quote! And "my mind is my weapon" also comes to mind.
