I loved this installment! Of course I was happily surprised to see Izzie show up and have her go back with the crew. Nice adding a mystery/mission in there for her. It’s great that she isn’t just a damsel in distress or love interest, but has her own plot as well. I look forward to seeing where that goes.

And awww to Nellis not being able to keep up a front for long. Honestly, there being a romance, and it being his character (instead of Jace), adds a nice balance to this group. I like where all this is going.

More than anything though, this story had some real suspense, where I sat up and couldn’t stop reading until the end. Very well done, and I am taking notes, as you are def doing that better in your original fic than I am in mine. Cheers!

Oh, and I love the image for the Duchess and Eartha Kitt. You did her personality very well :-) But by image, I am also looking forward to seeing Hestrick (yum!) and what he’s all about (and if he has any chemistry with one of your magic women...)

I always love your comments. I know it takes me a while to respond sometimes.

I don't do damsel in distress that often. I think as a woman it sort of offends me. I like all my women to be strong and self reliant just like i was taught to be.

I thought that since this is a fantasy fiction. it would be more logical to have a non human romance. I have done it before with dragon/human hybrids. I think its more the norm to make the human part of the romantic pair but i wanted to be different.

I've been doing quests and action stories for a long time. i think its just now starting to feel comfortable. Suspense isn't easy for any writer and im glad when it works out.

The Duchess.... I loved Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. I have the old Batman series on DVD. I saw her name in the prompt notes and it sparked something. As for her and Hestrick, I will have to wait and see but its not out of the question. I do bring back characters sometimes.
