Adulting Sucks!: Back to School

“Ryuk, your chewing is disrupting my studying.” Light chided as he looked down at the broken lead of his pencil.

“Well, I’m not going to stop eating for your pleasure.” The Shinigami retorted as he took another bite from the apple in his hand.

Light sighed and grabbed the pencil sharpener from inside his desk. Entrance exams for college were coming up soon so it was back to the books. He missed having free time, but it seemed right to be back studying. Ryuk finished his apple with a chomp and looked around for another unsuspecting apple to consume.

“Light, why are you studying now? What happened to killing all the bad guys in the world and being a god?”

“You really don’t understand mankind do you?” Light smiled. “By studying I am defeating mankind. I’m learning from their mistakes and forming my own plan. Think of the big picture! World peace is the first step. Next, world domination.”

Ryuk gasped when he discovered an apple underneath Light’s bed. “And L? What are you going to do about him?”

“Same as always.” Light placed his pencil back on the paper and began writing again. “Beat him at his own game.”
